I’ve been working as an editor in the gay media for nearly a decade now, yet there are still times when I find myself blown away by the communities we serve.
At the beginning of the spring I headed off to Seattle for our third annual Swimsuit Photo Shoot. Since we shot in Dallas and Phoenix the last two years, we thought the Pacific Northwest would provide us with something different.

More Compete headed your way

It has been two years since Perez Hilton first blogged about our inaugural swimsuit issue, drawing so many hits to our Web site that it shut our server down. In 2007 we featured gay and gay-supportive athletes from Dallas. We followed up our premier swimsuit issue by throwing a pool party in Phoenix and inviting local athletes to share in the fun — and the photo shoot.
